The question that started it
Why should period pain decide how a day goes. We began by listening to users and mapping real moments of discomfort.
Matri began with one question: why are women still expected to quietly adjust their lives around period pain?
For generations, period pain has been treated as something women simply have to tolerate. Plans are cancelled, workdays become harder and important moments are missed.
We started Matri because we believed women deserved a better option: thoughtful technology that feels simple, personal and made for everyday life.
“Relief should not feel complicated, clinical or out of reach.
Matri was founded by school friends Roni Mondal and Rohan Roy, who believed meaningful technology should solve problems people had quietly accepted for too long.
Roni leads Matri’s brand, customer experience and growth. Rohan leads product development, manufacturing and operations.
What began with conversations about period pain became years of prototyping, testing, manufacturing and listening to women.
Matri 1.0 had already helped thousands of women manage period pain. But we knew the product experience did not yet represent the standard we wanted Matri to stand for.
So we made one of the hardest decisions in our journey. We stopped production, paused marketing and started again.
For nearly six months, we redesigned the body, battery, display, charging, finish and the way the product felt in a woman’s hand.
That journey became Matri Pro.
Sometimes building something better means having the courage to stop and begin again.
Matri was not built in one perfect attempt. It was built through questions, experiments, failures and the decision to keep improving.
Why should period pain decide how a day goes. We began by listening to users and mapping real moments of discomfort.
Many prototypes and many small improvements. The goal stayed the same. Calm and control without pills.
A simple device with gentle TENS pulses. Discreet, rechargeable, and made for everyday life.
We shared the mission on national television. The conversation put menstrual wellness in the spotlight and helped us reach more homes.
We create guides and campus sessions that replace worry with clarity. The promise is care that fits real life.
We keep refining materials and support while staying close to user stories. The work continues with the same intent.
Building Matri in India allows us to remain close to the product, the manufacturing process and the women we serve.
From product development and assembly to testing and quality checks, our team stays involved at every stage.
Matri Pro is only the beginning. We are building thoughtful products, technology and support that help women understand their bodies and feel more in control of their health.
Every product we build will begin the same way Matri began: by listening.
